BackExplAIn is designed to help people understand documents in plain language.
What you can upload
You can upload or paste documents such as medical letters, discharge summaries, insurance letters, school notices, admin letters and emails.
What not to upload
Please avoid uploading documents that show highly sensitive identifiers, including Tax File Numbers, Medicare numbers, bank account details, card numbers, passport numbers or similar personal identifiers.
How your document is used
Your document is sent to an AI service so ExplAIn can generate a plain-language explanation. The explanation may include a summary, key points, helpful context, suggested next steps, questions to ask and, for emails, a suggested reply.
Saving history
ExplAIn does not save your result to history unless you choose the “Save this result to my history” option. If you do save a result, it may be stored so you can view it again later on the same device.
Images
Uploaded images are used to generate the explanation. ExplAIn does not intend to permanently store uploaded document images as part of this MVP.

ExplAIn is for understanding only. It does not provide medical, legal, financial or professional advice. Always check important decisions with the relevant professional.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. ExplAIn does not store your full card details.
